The Community Task Force on NYU
Development
was convened by Borough President
Scott Stringer in the fall of 2006, as a working
group of elected officials, community leaders and
organizations and New York University principals with the goal of creating an
urban campus plan that balances the needs of the University
with its neighboring communities for harmonious long-term growth.
CommUNITYnyc is
integral to this urban planning process. Its task is to share information, promote dialogue
and encourage innovation. As a public portal to this
endeavor, this site is, in all senses, work in progress.
Wednesday, Sept. 17 , 5:00
p.m.- Task Force Meeting
at 1 Centre St.,
19th Floor. The agenda will
continue the discussion of process and timeline as
it relates to NYU's 2031 urban campus planning and development projects prior to mandated public
hearings (Community Board Committees, for instance).
Additionally the Community Task Force will review the initial
"Working Principles" adopted in Sept 2006. These can
be seen at the bottom of the
Principles
page.
